Shortly after the entire gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was leaked, the Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League release date was rescheduled. Now that the developer is taking more time to make changes based on customer feedback, it will launch in 2024.

Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark are the game’s main protagonists. They want to destroy the heroes of the Justice League who have been indoctrinated. Green Lantern, The Flash, and Batman are a few of them. In a sizable open-world city setting, players will be able to form squads of four to combat enemies. To be ranked among the top cooperative games available, it will undoubtedly need to improve its fighting skills.

Here is all we currently know about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League while we wait for additional information.

Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League Release Date and Platforms

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League release date is February 2, 2024, on the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. This follows the postponement of its 2023 release timeframe. There was a delay due to backlash to the game‘s presentation during a Sony State of Play event.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, however, will not be available on last-generation systems like the PS4 and Xbox One.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Story

During a 2021 DC FanDome Panel, Rocksteady creative director Sefton Hill revealed some information about the game’s setting, gameplay, and how the story would progress from the Arkham series. According to Hill, the storylines from the Arkham series will be continued in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We’ll see characters from the Arkham games, like Penguin, coming to help the Suicide Squad, whether they want it or not.

The group, according to Hill, planned to maintain its distinctive aesthetic of “powerful gunplay meets superhero empowerment.” Hill continued by stating that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have a more difficult move set and require more skill to master than Batman: Arkham Series. It was stated that every playable member of the Suicide Squad would maintain this degree of realism, and there were hints of a weapon system that would alter as the game progressed.

Metropolis, the setting for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, was formerly a bustling metropolis best known to DC comics readers as Superman’s PO BOX. In an interview with DCFanDome, Hill referred to the cityscape as the “fifth character” in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Rocksteady’s tribute to the fans.

Along with other Justice League members including Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, and Flash, our Suicide Squad faces up against an army of dishonest Metropolis inhabitants in the most current narrative and gameplay teaser seen above. The Suicide Squad will have boss fights with these iconic superheroes—all of whom are under Brainiac’s influence—while exploring the deserted city.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gameplay

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s open world is based on Metropolis, which is meant to be a larger version of Arkham City from Rocksteady. This open-world approach should allow for a ton of exploring.

It is also known that there will be single-player and multiplayer game modes available. If a person wants to play alone, they can roam around the squad as they choose; AI will arrange for the other players to play alongside them. However, you’ll need an internet connection to accomplish this.

Invite your friends to play with you so that up to four people can take over the roles of the squad members you don’t want to play as in multiplayer. According to Rocksteady, the gameplay will be fluid and the cooperative play will be drop-in/drop-out. Therefore, playing with others one minute and by yourself the next won’t have an impact on your game.

The four playable characters are Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark. They all possess “unique movesets” and “enhanced traversal abilities.” The various playstyles of each anti-hero were showcased in the gameplay trailer for The Game Awards 2021, despite the lack of disclosure regarding their precise abilities and actions.

Based on what we saw, Deadshot gives the group firepower; King Shark is a brute force specialist who can also utilize a Gatling weapon when needed; Harley is nimble, can deliver powerful melee blows, and is equipped with a grappling hook. Not to mention, Captain Boomerang is fast on his feet and uses his boomerang to easily take down opponents far away.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League weapons

In the State of Play Game Overview, we got a closer look at how Suicide Squad’s weapons will operate. The six categories of weapons include pistols, miniguns, shotguns, assault rifles, SMGs, and sniper rifles. All of the weapons are fully customizable, meaning you can change the way each gun looks and how it works depending on its main attachments.

These weapons are also available in limited editions featuring a feature from a different DC villain. The designers of the State of Play video talk about an assault rifle that has the essence of Bane in it. Green venom, accompanied by unique voice lines, sound effects, and other benefits, bursts forth as you fire the weapon.
