GTA 6 Leaks

On September 18, 2022, there was a historic Grand Theft Auto 6 leak that resulted in the online distribution of dozens of pictures and videos purportedly taken from an early build of the game. Are you unsure if the GTA 6 leaks are accurate? Rockstar, however, later released a statement confirming the hack: “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.”

The dedicated GTA 6 Reddit has likewise removed all of the leak’s links, images, and videos but has pledged to stay online under one condition. According to the most recent information available, the youngster accused of a significant GTA 6 leak has been declared psychiatrically incompetent for trial. It’s interesting to note that one leaked GTA 6 screenshot contains the lone copyright “nuke” from Rockstar.

Will GTA 6 Be Delayed?

There was some uncertainty following the recent GTA 6 leak about how the incursion would affect ongoing work on the new Grand Theft Auto game. The production of GTA 6 and the continuing security of GTA 5 and GTA Online will not be impacted by the hack, Rockstar has later confirmed in an official statement. “At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects […] Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto 6 will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.”

GTA 6 Release Date

The GTA 6 release date has not yet been revealed by Rockstar Games. This information was part of a larger leak that suggested GTA 6 would take place in a modern-day Vice City. It’s interesting that Take-Two, the owner of Rockstar, keeps implying that GTA 6 will be available by March 2025 without actually mentioning it.

However, there are some reports suggesting that GTA 6 may debut in 2024. Initially, a Bloomberg article stated that  “current and former Rockstar staff reckon GTA 6 is still at least two years away from release, suggesting a 2024 launch.” The recent statement from Microsoft to the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) inquiry into its ongoing acquisition of Activision Blizzard then supported this.

Why Is GTA 6 Taking So Long?

Many of you are curious as to why GTA 6 is being released so slowly. The reality is that Rockstar’s tardiness is understandable given the popularity of GTA 5 and GTA Online as well as the magnitude of Red Dead Redemption 2. When confirming that GTA 6 was under production, the studio made this statement. Rockstar made a special effort to point out “the unprecedented longevity of GTA 5“, which has been updated and re-released numerous times over the past nine years.

GTA 6 Location

Even though the location of GTA 6 has been the subject of much speculation, it seems like Vice City will be our final stop. Rockstar has confirmed that the GTA 6 gameplay footage that was released is authentic, so now we know more about the setting and the city.

GTA 6 appears to take place in the present day, in contrast to Vice City, which takes place in 1986. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in a modern parody of Miami, Florida, as evidenced by the appearance of NPCs with smartphones and contemporary attire, Nevertheless, as if that weren’t enough, astute social media users have noticed a character refers to the death of LifeInvader CEO, who is killed by Michael De Santa — indicating that GTA 6 is apparently set after the events of GTA 5.

GTA 6 Map

The final GTA 6 map hasn’t been revealed, but there are some hints from the leaked video and displays that point to a play area that goes beyond Vice City’s borders. A few of the leaked photos seem to depict entirely new Vice City neighborhoods, much like Rockstar expanded upon Los Santos between Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 5. There is currently a rumor that Grand Theft Auto 6 will move even further south, into the Everglades (a wetland) and the Florida Keys (a chain of tropical islands). As part of a radio transmission, the “Gator Keys” were mentioned in the first GTA: Vice City, but the actual site was never depicted in the game.

GTA 6 Characters

The information was initially released by a Bloomberg investigation from earlier this year, which looked at the shifting corporate culture at Rockstar North; it has subsequently been confirmed by the GTA 6 leak. Two new playable GTA 6 characters may be seen in the early development footage. The characters’ working names are Jason and Lucia, and it appears that the character-switching system from GTA 5 is making a partial reappearance. In contrast to the gradual perspective change seen in GTA 5, another video shows character switching that occurs very quickly.
