Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release in 2025 and will transport us back to Vice City in the state of Leonida. The announcement was made through the official Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer 1, which was uploaded one day ahead of schedule due to the possibility of a leak. uploaded one day early because of the possibility of a leak.

Since its debut, we’ve been meticulously examining the trailer to appreciate all of the notable elements it showcases. A summary of 12 noteworthy aspects you may have overlooked in what appears to be a massive open-world environment that elevates Vice City to new heights can be found in our dissection of the Grand Theft Auto 6 video. But in the interim, scroll down to see the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer and all of the information we currently have.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Date

Rockstar has revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released in 2025. The unveiling teaser for Grand Theft Auto 6 indicates that it will be available on TBC in 2025; however, no precise release date has been given.

Internet detectives have been speculating before the reveal trailer dropped. A report that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be set in a modern-day Vice City surfaced, and several sources have confirmed that the game will indeed arrive in 2025.

It’s interesting to note that Rockstar’s owner, Take-Two, keeps hinting that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released by March 2025 but says nothing about it. CEO Strauss Zelnick says “We remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance.” That significant boost to revenue predictions is supposedly due to the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S confirmed

It has been revealed thus far that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The announcement that “Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025” was made public by Take-Two in an official press release. As of right now, there’s no word on a PC release, which could indicate that it will go the same path as some of the previous GTA games, which came out on consoles first and then made their way to the PC later.

Why is Grand Theft Auto 6 Taking So Long?

Many of you are asking why the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking so long. In all honesty, it’s not surprising that Rockstar is taking its time given the popularity of GTA 5 and GTA Online as well as the scale of Red Dead Redemption 2. When the studio announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 was being developed, it declared as much. “The unprecedented longevity of GTA 5″—which has been updated and re-released many times in the last nine years—was something that Rockstar made a point of mentioning.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Characters

The first Grand Theft Auto 6 female lead, Lucia, was highlighted as we were introduced to the game’s protagonists in the official teaser. Even though there’s still a lot about her character that we don’t know, the trailer drops some hints: she wears prison attire, indicating that she has undoubtedly been afoul of the law. In addition, Lucia is frequently seen alongside an unidentified male character who appears to be playing a major part in the upcoming entry. Although he has previously gone by the aliases James and Jason, his identity has not been confirmed. They seem to have a connection, almost like Bonnie and Clyde, and they talk about trusting each other while they commit a crime together.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Location

Vice City is returned in Grand Theft Auto 6. Although the first game took place in 1986, the 2025 version is supposed to take place in what looks to be a contemporary setting. We’re traveling to the state of Leonida, which is “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond,” according to a Rockstar announcement. Vice City looks to be a portion of a larger territory that will constitute Grand Theft Auto 6, which is slated to be the “biggest, most immersive evolution of Grand Theft Auto yet”.

With its depiction of rural Florida that is just as chaotic as the actual thing, the teaser has already offered us a glimpse of a Vice City that is more beautiful than before. We’ll have to wait and see if the Malibu Club, Ocean View Hotel, Little Haiti, and other well-known locations like Starfish Island are still reachable.

The trailer, which emphasizes how realistic the new version is, shows that fans have been making parallels between the updated version of the location and the original Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Announcement

Early in 2022, Rockstar Games quietly revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 was “well underway” as part of a larger update for GTA 5 and GTA Online. This was the first announcement regarding the game. With word that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in “active development”, Rockstar said: “On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!”

Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive confirmed in August 2022 that Grand Theft Auto 6 development is “well underway” in a financial results release. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, promised big things for Grand Theft Auto 6: “The Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases, with development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway.”

Grand Theft Auto 6 Map

Although the final version of the Grand Theft Auto 6 map has not yet been released, there are hints from leaked displays and videos that point to a play area outside of Vice City. According to several leaked pictures, Vice City appears to have entirely new areas, much as how Rockstar expanded upon Los Santos between Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 5. Vice City itself, as you may know, is modeled after Miami, and rumors are currently circulating that Grand Theft Auto 6 may move even farther south, into the Florida Keys (a chain of tropical islands) and the Everglades (a swamp). Now, the “Gator Keys” location was never seen in the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game, although it was mentioned in a radio broadcast. Expect a variety of environment types on the Grand Theft Auto 6 map, if the screenshots confirm our suspicions. Fans of the Grand Theft Auto 6 subreddit are attempting to map out the game using leaked coordinates, and they have since begun piecing the map together with Google Earth and Paint.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Gameplay

However, judging from the leaked early development footage, it seems like Rockstar is at least investigating and testing a few new features. For example, a new set of stealth mechanisms appears to be introduced in the video, as people are seen dragging bodies and crawling while prone. In addition, the weapon wheel—which was redesigned for Grand Theft Auto V—is returning in some capacity, and the leaked footage seems to indicate that Rockstar is introducing new painkillers and other health-improving items.
