God of War: Coming soon is Ragnarok! In the most recent installment of the action-adventure series, Kratos battles the gods once more. However, you must comprehend the up to this point of the tale in order to fully comprehend the game. Thank goodness, I can assist you with that.

God of War (2005)

Kratos, a soldier for the Greek Gods of Olympus, is first introduced to us in the original God of War. He served as a captain in the vanquished Spartan army before calling on Ares to give him strength and devoting himself to Ares’ service. Due to his schemes, Kratos murdered his own wife and daughter, which prompted him to forsake his allegiance to the gods of Olympus and swore he would do whatever it took to destroy them. Traveling between worlds and completing tasks for Poseidon, Zeus, and Athena, Kratos collaborates with the other gods in an effort to reach Ares and exact his vengeance. Kratos defeats Ares in a bloody struggle to become the new God of War.

God of War II (2007)

The other gods avoid Kratos since he is the new God of War. He joins the Spartan army to assault Rhodes despite warnings, and as a result, he has to battle the Colossal of Rhodes. Kratos is urged to be obedient to the gods by Zeus, who it turns out is the one who created everything. Being Kratos, he resists and is put to death by Zeus. Kratos leaves to save Gaia’s brother Typhon and kill Theseus when Gaia gives him orders so he can seek revenge on Olympus. Naturally, Kratos vanquishes them all and attains his ultimate objective of Mount Olympus. As the game comes to a close, Kratos kills Athena and summons the ancient Titans, vowing to destroy Olympus with their assistance and slay every god as retribution for what they’ve done to him.

God of War III (2010)

To murder the gods, Kratos and the Titans scale Mount Olympus, and they are successful in killing Poseidon. The Titans, however, turn on Kratos and admit they were only using him as a pawn. Kratos is submerged in the Styx River and loses both Athena and the Blade of Olympus. Kratos journeys through the underworld to murder Hades, free the souls of the underworld, and ultimately escape himself after Athena commands him to kill Zeus. In an effort to reach Zeus, Kratos ascends, killing Perses and Helios. Before reaching Zeus, Kratos resumes his murderous rampage by slaying Hercules, Hephaestus, and Hera. When Kratos discovers that Pandora’s Box is empty, he assaults Zeus; however, Gaia later reappears, and Kratos must once again murder her. Kratos too thinks he’s killed Zeus, but the god’s ghost comes after him and steals his weapons and abilities. Before realizing the truth, Athena orders Kratos to return whatever was in Pandora’s box. Kratos was filled with optimism when he opened the box, even if evil had escaped and had corrupted the gods.

God of War: Ascension (2013)

Castor and Pollux have mortally wounded the Oracle, and as she draws her last breath, she assigns Kratos the task of locating the Eyes of Truth. After killing Castor and Pollux and removing the Amulet of Uroborus from their bodies, Kratos travels across the sea to Delos, a journey that will forever alter him. When Kratos reaches the island of Delos, the Furies imprison him; nevertheless, Orkos manages to free him. The Furies seize Kratos once more and strip him of everything as he receives his Oath stone from Orkos and retrieves the Oracle’s eyes. Kratos defeats Alecto and Tisiphone in a fierce struggle after escaping from multiple illusions, killing all the furies, and destroying the entire prison. Kratos murders Orkos with sadness and destroys his home before departing to become the gods’ champion.

God Of War (2018)

The weird man reanimates after Kratos appears to have killed him as if nothing had happened. In order to nurture his son while traveling the world and killing anything in his way, Kratos does as is anticipated at this point. I won’t go into the details of the plot right now, but during your journey, you encounter Freya, a lovely woman who helps you save Atreus from a fatal wound, and Mimir, a chatty severed head who also happens to be Scottish (and quite amusing). Baldur is the odd man, and he won’t stop until you’ve been killed and crushed beneath his boot. The fact that Freya, the woman you saw before, is Baldur’s mother, presents the only obstacle to killing him. As she departs, she has Kratos swear revenge before the two of them head to the Giant’s Mountain to spread Atreus’ mother’s ashes.

God Of War (2022)

God of War Ragnarök, which debuts on November 9th this year, is slated to carry on the Norse epic. As Asgardian armies get ready for a war that will supposedly end the world, Kratos and Atreus must go to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers. Fimbulwinter is already well underway.

They will pass through breathtaking mythological places and come face to face with terrifying foes in the shape of Norse gods and monsters. Players are in for a treat as God of War Ragnarök looks to carry on the franchise’s tradition of amplifying the intensity with each and every outing if the most recent teaser is anything to go by.
