Continue reading below to learn everything we currently know about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, including gameplay specifics and the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Release Date

Final Fantasy 7 rebirth release date has been revealed as February 29, 2024. During PlayStation’s September State of Play, the Final Fantasy 7 rebirth release date and a new trailer confirming Vincent’s return, the existence of the Golden Saucer, and all of its incredible minigames were unveiled.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Collector’s Edition

A physical copy of Final Fantasy VII in its deluxe edition has been released with the collector’s edition. The day the game was released coincided with the announcement of the collector’s edition. The double-disc epic and all of its extras come with an amazing price tag of US$350. The FF7R collector’s edition includes the deluxe edition’s steel book, DLC, in-game goodies, and a giant 19-inch statue of Sephiroth to showcase in your living room. Though expensive, it sounds like an alluring offer for any devoted Final Fantasy VII fan.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth platforms

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is only expected to be released on the PlayStation 5. While Final Fantasy 7 Remake was originally released on PS4,  Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is skipping the platform entirely as Square Enix focuses its efforts on the new generation of consoles. While Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is already available on Steam, likely, that Rebirth will also eventually be available there. Whether a PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is being developed has not yet been confirmed by Square Enix.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gameplay

A substantial portion of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s gameplay has been made public since the game’s first release. We’ve seen Cloud and the gang play minigames at the Gold Saucer, a well-known location from the first game, and explore larger areas. In addition, there has been action from the September 2023 State of Play demonstration and video from the Summer Game Fest in 2023. The gameplay trailer included Cloud participating in racing, riding a Chocobo, and even performing a segue. Given that Square Enix has indicated that we may anticipate “nearly 100 hours of adventure” in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it is clear that the second installment of the game will be more ambitious.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Combat

The previews for Final Fantasy VII Remake showed off Cloud’s use of orders and real-time action to overcome a variety of opponents, along with brief glimpses of the other party members in action. Based on what we’ve seen so far, it appears that Red 13, the newest member of the party, will be facing Barret, Tifa, and Aerith once more.

It’s interesting to note that director Naoki Hamaguchi recently revealed that Red 13 will offer something unique as a new kind of character in a PlayStation blog post that followed the September 2023 State of Play demonstration. Red has a “revenge gauge mechanic” in addition to an ATB gauge, which is supposed to charge up when he defends against opposing hits. “New synergy moves” that would be a part of the updated fighting system were also highlighted on the website. These Synergy commands and abilities can be used “freely at any time” by depleting a charged-up gauge, just like Limit Breaks.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Development

It is believed that work on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth began before the 2020 PS4 Final Fantasy Remake completed production. Since then, Square Enix has released Final Fantasy Remake Intergrade for the PS5 and PC, as well as the Intermission DLC. “Three years may feel like a long time for all the fans who are eagerly awaiting the next game, but we want to offer the best experience possible and reassure everyone that development is proceeding at an astonishingly fast pace for such a large-scale HD title,” says producer Yoshinori Kitase, acknowledging that the three-year wait has been difficult but that the outcome will be worthwhile.

Regarding the progress of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 development, creative director Tetsuya Nomura stated the following: The creation of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has advanced quickly ever since we implemented a new structure for it. It is uncommon to find a title of this caliber, where everything is related even before production starts.” Naoki Hamaguchi, the game’s director, states “Development has already entered full production and the team is highly motivated in putting everything together on the project, and working to create a finished game.”

The goal of the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is to give players an immersive experience. The collector’s edition, which comes with additional features including a statue of Sephiroth, caters to ardent followers. Gameplay teasers showcase brand-new activities including racing and Chocobo rides. With a Final Fantasy 7 rebirth release date of February 29, 2024, and assurances of rapid development from the production team, it is expected that Final Fantasy players will have an incredible gaming experience after the three-year wait.
